Shawn Mendes is hard at work promoting new album ‘Wonder.’
And though the LP is on-course to premiere at #1 on the Billboard Hot 100, the 22-year-old has his eyes set on global domination.
To assist the realisation of that goal, Mendes sat down with UK publication The Guardian.
During the candid chat (which was anything but the usual Q&A), the star addressed some of the murmurs directed his way.

Speaking about the rumors surrounding his sexuality and authenticity of his relationship with girlfriend Camila Cabello, Mendes said:
“There was a desperation for me to come out as being gay, which is such a ridiculous thing. I got upset because I know people who are gay who haven’t come out and I know the suffering they experience because of that. It’s just completely ignorant and insensitive of people to be on that sh*t.”
On the pressures of appeasing everyone musically, he added:
“That’s the problem. That’s where you go into a complete meltdown, when you try to make something that’s impossible to make: something that the whole world likes. It is a psychological head-f*ck. It completely is, and that’s after three therapists and 55 self-help books plus meditation and exercise and life experience and all of the things I’ve been working through for the last year and a half.”

I’m bout to snitch. Shawn came to the restaurant I was a busboy at on July 18th, 2018 (Pink Taco on the Sunset Strip in West Hollywood, but not the gay part of West Hollywood). He refused to make eye contact with anyone at the restaurant the entire night, except his male companion (whom he spent the night gazing at). I got the vibe the male companion was straight, starstruck, and just happy to be there with his boss (he looked like he’s probably in Shawn’s band). Anyways, after trying to make eye contact with Shawn *Lionel Richie voice* all night longggggg, I will never ever forget until my dying breath, I looked directly in front of me at the mirror behind our barbooth as I walked past him to find he turned his head all the way to his left to stare at my voluptuous light-skinned ass as I walked past the bar (like a runway, sweetie), and into the kitchen. My initial reaction was “Oh s***! He’s gonna catch me looking at him in the mirror and tell my bosses to fire me!” but he was so focused on my ass that he didn’t realize I was looking directly at his reflection. *Isley Brothers voice* “Cause you BUSTED!” Things seem genuine with Camila so I think he’s probably bi like Usher, Justin Timberlake, and Justin Bieber but feels no reason to come out of the closet as bi unless he ever finds himself in a serious relationship with a man.
