BTS’ explosive hit, ‘Dynamite,’ is proving itself the gift that keeps on giving.
As if scoring over 100 million views in 24 hours wasn’t enough, the August 2020-released tune not only became the group’s first Hot 100 chart-topper but it also made history when it became the first K-Pop song to premiere at #1 on the tally.
Just days after the boys made their GRAMMY Awards performance debut with a high octane performance of ‘Dynamite,’ they learned the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) upgraded its certification status to double Platinum – this means it’s sold the equivalent of 2 million copies in the United States alone.
Among their singles, the achievement is a first for BTS, who previously had only been certified Platinum with the likes of the now-updated ‘Dynamite’ as well as hits ‘Idol,’ ‘Boy With Luv,’ and ‘Mic Drop.’
‘Dynamite,’ as well as its follow-up Hot 100 #1 hit, ‘Life Goes On,’ are both found on the septet’s latest album, ‘BE.’
