The music superstar took to Twitter Spaces, where she revealed the reason why she passed on Doja Cat‘s ‘Get Into It (Yuh).’
Her words below…
“The truth is, she asked me to get on that song. It’s not that I’m too busy at all. It’s just, there were middle people involved in that situation so I had told her, if it was like how me and BIA were direct and we dealt with each other directly, it would be different.”
“But I didn’t love that song because I didn’t think I could bring anything to it. So I asked them to send me something else. I think that was the second song they sent me, but I asked them to send me something else and they didn’t send me anything else.”

Later on, the ‘Seeing Green’ rapper went on to reveal that other artists have sent her material, but she insists that she is focused on finding “the right thing.”
Elsewhere, Minaj revealed that she does not intend to do a ‘Way 2 Sexy’ remix with Drake from his ‘Certified Lover Boy’ album.

The reason why Nicki didn’t do the feature is because she hates working with (and helping) other female rappers. She won’t do multiple songs with female rappers because she thinks that doing that will give them shine. She will do multiple songs with Ariana Grande, but not with a female rapper.
Remember when she said she rejected the Cardi request to be on Bartier Cardi because she just did Motorsport and didn’t want it to be too much? She just doesn’t want to stand side by side with other female rappers in case they become bigger than her, but that is the wrong approach. At this stage of her career, standing with other female rappers and doing multiple songs with them will make her look like a godmother, but she is too selfish and shortsighted to see that.
Anyway, none of this matters anymore. Nicki still thinks we are in the 2010s and she is still the biggest female rapper in the world. She really doesn’t understand that the industry has passed her by and she is now an artist who is well past her prime. Doja Cat is way bigger than her at this point. Long are the days when Nicki was the only female rapper with a record deal on a major label who was popping and running the scene. Nicki is no longer even the second biggest female rapper at the moment. The way she treated Lil’ Kim when she first came into the industry has really come back to haunt her. She is done in these streets. Hang it up. Flatscreen.
