2021 Year in Review: Doja Cat Had a Damn Good Year

Published: Thursday 30th Dec 2021 by Rashad

Whether penciled in history books for reasons good, bad, ugly, and/or everything in between, 2021 brought with it some of entertainment’s most memorable moments.

Now, as the year draws to a close, we are reflecting on our favorite moments that rocked – and to some degree maybe even reshaped – the Urban and Pop cultural landscape as we know it.

Next, we’ll recount the many ways Doja Cat made 2021 her best year ever!

Doja Cat started 2021 the exact same way she’s ending it – with a slew of GRAMMY nominations!

Still riding high on the success of her inaugural #1 hit, ‘Say So’ (2020), Cat kicked off the year with one of GRAMMY night’s most talked about performances (as seen above).  And though she missed out on the 3 trophies she was up for, the buzz around that critically acclaimed performance was just the calm before the storm.

By spring (ahead of the release of her junior album ‘Planet Her’), she’d already collected four top 20 singles (‘Streets,’ ‘Kiss Me More,’ ‘Best Friend.’ and ’34+35′ remix) – some to historic measure.

Her domination expanded well beyond the charts, however.  She made headlines for a sweet Pepsi deal and was appointed the year’s MTV VMA hostess!

She did all that work and only pocketed $6 million dollars in earnings meanwhile Nicki Minaj made $20 million dollars with no album or performances. Seems like a 360 deal

How the f*** do you know how much these artists REALLY make? Right….you don’t. Barbs stay angry at Doja for no reason. Just because Nicki is a bitter 40 year old troll married to a broke ass 50 year old gang banging p*** r***** doesn’t mean y’all can take your anger and shame out on Doja.

I knew doja was gonna take over . They gave those Grammies to Megan and bey to break the record. Bey would not have shown up
Unless she’s a guaranteed winner. Doja way better than cardi and Meg. All they talk about is they p…. They can’t dance only porno rappers. Doja a triple threat and reign won’t let up
No time soon. Cardi scared to drop
Because of doja cat. Doja already got the next idea planned. We tired of porno rappers. What else she got to rap about ? Doja better win atleast four outta the 8
