#Beyhive Reacts To Beyoncé Being Snubbed at Golden Globes for 5th Time

Published: Sunday 9th Jan 2022 by Rashad

Amid criticism for the lack of diversity among its voting committee and winners, the Hollywood Foreign Press Association – the organization responsible for the annual Golden Globes – looked to shed the negative press by awarding one of its most varied slew of winners yet aboard its 79th annual ceremony Sunday (January 9).

Ahead of historic victories from the likes of Will Smith, ‘Pose’ star MJ Rodriguez, and more (as we reported here), fans of music megastar Beyoncé were hoping the Globes would kick off its trot down diversity lane by awarding the Best Original Song trophy to her tune, ‘Be Alive’ (found aboard the ‘King Richard’ soundtrack).

Not long into the untelevised show’s run, the dreams of ‘Be Alive’ winning were deadened.

With over 500 industry awards to her credit, Bey reigns as one of the most-awarded acts in entertainment history.  Yet, despite multiple nominations across her storied career, her movie-related endeavors – acting and music – have gone largely unawarded.

While the EMMYs have been a serial snubber of the Queen, the Golden Globes hasn’t trailed too far behind having iced the diva out of a Best Actress (Comedy or Musical) win in 2007 as well as three Best Original Song victories in 2007 for ‘Listen,’ 2009 for ‘Once in a Lifetime,’ and 2020 for ‘Spirit’ respectively).  On Sunday, they added yet another snub to the record as Bey lost the Best Original Song trophy to Billie Eilish‘s ‘No Time to Die’ (as we reported here).

Needless to say, the loss didn’t sit well with the icon’s fans (affectionately called the #Beyhive).  See what we mean below:

Thank you….love the words, but the song itself was a no…..if anyone deserves better, it was the Williams family

She will get it when she actually EaRNS it

She has won via her Payola hookup in the music industry but not Hollywood

  4. DC3 FOREVER January 10, 2022

As a die hard Bey fan even I can admit that BE ALIVE is one of if not her worst songs.

  5. Tino January 10, 2022

Maybe she should stop desperately doing any and everything to chase the Golden Globe and Oscar award every damn year SMDH

  6. J January 10, 2022

B has been in the limelight for almost 25 years now. You win some, you lose some.

Billie Eyelash simply bats an eyebrow and wins everything

“Be Alive” wasn’t going to win anyway. The ONLY reason it even made the soundtrack is probably because she’s good friends with Serena. Anyone in their right mind would’ve told her to re-record a new song, maybe even something original.

Ppl get upset whenever I say this, an I understand why, but Beyoncé is around too many yes men. No one is listening to the publics opinions on alot of what she does. The public is not thrilled by alot of her attempts and she needs to get it together.

Honestly, I think she’s burnt out. Its hard to be in the game for 25 years and still pop, be the IT girl. We should be appreciative of these artists and their desire to still entertain us, not expecting wonders all the time. She doesn’t need any other accolades neither does she need any more money. She could literally pay us dust for the next 15 years and she won’t lose anything. If I were a hardcore Beyonce fan I would be happy to hear anything from her, regardless if its not the best song in the world.

The song absolutely does nothing for me personally it truly felt like a Spirit 2.0. If felt too force too like nothing that’ll truly capture you with its lyrics and overall emotion. Now Sade I wish won for The Big Unknown for Widows that song was amazing of quality.

I love Bey, but I’ve gotta be honest and say Billie had the better track. Be Alive sounded better in the previews, but I feel that when they changed the arrangement for the radio release and replaced it with a generic hip hop sound it lost the epic sound and gravity it previously possessed. It grew on me but it wasnt as impactful as it couldve been. Her vocals were fire though.

The song is horrible, it’s as simple as that.

  11. Unnatural January 10, 2022

That song is terrible. All Beyoncé doing is barking about being black now that being proud is trending. Song does nothing for me. The beehive need to stop shining this light that forces us to call a spade a spade.

“Amid criticism for the lack of diversity” because Beyoncé didn’t win? Chile you got people of ALL KINDS winning! Including TRANS! Beyoncé wasn’t snubbed and neither is there a “lack of diversity.” Talk about stirring up racial tension all over again. You’re part of the problem, TGJ. Making black people feel they’re not seen or heard. Just STOP. Billie had the better song and she won. End of.

“… awarding one of its most varied slew of winners yet” yet Beyoncé wasn’t snubbed due to non-diversity.

        Reading comprehension is key.

      • Lisa January 10, 2022

That’s the point – no one is saying she was snubbed due to diversity, the criticism is in relation to past ceremonies, not this one, hence the looked to shed the negative press by awarding one of its most varied slew of winners yet aboard its 79th annual ceremony Sunday (January 9).”

        Reading comprehension is key.

She wasn’t snubbed…her music just sucks. Her fans need to realize that.

  14. Moose’s Wig January 10, 2022

The song is 💩. Her ⭐ is fading. She can’t buy the awards the way she used to. Most of her stuff after Sasha Fierce has been 🗑️.

  15. FAKE SONGWRITING CREDITS January 10, 2022

Even bey fans know that song is not it.

  16. Divab January 10, 2022

I’m a dye hard fan and yes she’s been snubb for so many many awards that she truly deserves. But being snubbed so many times, if I were Beyoncé I’ll do like Rihanna and not put my all into making g music 🎶 and even movies 🎥 because no matter what she does she still be look 👀 over always. She needs to let these awards shows really missed her and maybe 🤔 they will love ok differently when judging.

  17. Miss Salt Gawl January 11, 2022

Sorry but Billies song was a snooze fest. 007 theme song always wins the awards. It’s for Hetero white men. If you want to dislike Beyoncé just say that. Beyoncé needs to start withdrawing her nominations.
