Christina Aguilera’s ‘La Fuerza’ Lands at #2 on Billboard’s Latin Pop Album Chart

Published: Saturday 5th Feb 2022 by Rashad

Over 20 years into her career, Christina Aguilera is still managing to shake up headlines with new music.

Her latest project, the January 21-released Spanish-language EP ‘La Fuerza’ (which translates to ‘the force’ or ‘the strength’), went to chart battle on the strength of preceding singles “Pa’ Mis Muchachas” (featuring Becky G, Nicki Nicole, and Nathy Peluso), “Somos Nada,” and “Santo” (featuring Ozuna).

But while those tunes and a supportive international press run helped send the set to the top of global sales tallies (as we reported here), industry analysts predicted the ‘Fuerza’ Stateside figures wouldn’t mirror the fanfare it was receiving in international markets.

Look inside to see if they were right.

As forecasted, ‘La Fuerza’ – Aguilera’s first solo EP – missed the Billboard 200 upon its premiere week.  It marks the first time the GRAMMY winner has ever failed to place a project of new, original content on the hit list.

However, the six-song set fared much better on the Latin Pop charts.

In fact, 21 years after ‘Mi Reflejo’ – her first full Spanish language project – logged several weeks at #1 on the Billboard Latin Pop Album charts, ‘Fuerza’ enters at #2.

The EP is said to be the first of a trilogy Xtina will release over 2022.

Love the EP! She’s been in the game for 24 years now and the music market is based on streaming placement now.

Damn she couldn’t even place 199 on the album chart? Ep or not her name alone should’ve had this project on the 200 list. I guess her karma is catching up to her for being a B.I.T.C.H in the early days of her career

    Ya Llegué is my jam

The Genie in Bottle reference is perfect 😌👏🏼

I’m just going to be honest here!! Hopefully this humbles her ass. Bionic only had TWO videos. Burlesque had ZERO. Lotus had ONE PROPER VIDEO. Liberation had ONE good video! She has not performed first singles off of her projects in over a decade!

And then all of a sudden she wants to drop not one, not two, but three music videos for an EP. And on top of that she’s supposed to have two more EPs?

Where did all of this newfound energy and budget come from that we have been missing since B2B? How are you supposed to ever retain your loyal fanbase when all you do is show them the middle finger era after era?

    Ridiculous. Glad she flipped honestly.

      Flopped.*

You see she’s now under RocNation management and she’s now receiving the budget and management that she rightfully deserve. This Latin era has kicked off on a strong footing for her given this is only an EP with 6 songs. La Fuerza is actually a fantastic body of work. I am sure the momentum will continue to build as the next 2 EP is set to roll out. Her latin fans are eating up her offerings.

They can’t be if she’s not charting sis, Latin is one of the biggest music buyers it’s not showing interest

The dumbasses that write on this shitlog of racists didn’t get that this project is not made for them… the monotongue english speakers. This a project for Latin America and the spanish world… this being said… none is expecting her to do big sales in the USA… plus this has been released only digitaly… Xtina’s fans are old school and want physical material… not spend their time on b******* streaming platforms. Adios, coñazos! Viva la Reina!
