Megan Thee Stallion is turning up the heat on her label 1501 Certified Entertainment and its head Carl Crawford as their longstanding beef has once again been thrown on the griddle.

It’s been widely documented that the femcee and Crawford have been locked in a legal wrangle over a record deal she claims is exploitative.

While that battle rages on, the Hot Girl Coach is calling foul on Crawford and 1501 over her most recent release, ‘Something For The Hotties.’

See, Meg – who has a four-album deal with 1501 – has been powering through her releases. Indeed, she’s dropped multiple projects in recent years. ‘Tina Snow,’ ‘Fever,’ ‘Suga,’ ‘Good News,’ and ‘Hotties.’

However, according to reports, 1501 is only counting 2020’s ‘Good News’ as an “album”.

A move considered by many to be a technicality, so as to facilitate and necessitate more releases from Meg on the label.

For, even though the relationship is contentious and the publicity for the imprint arguably unfavorable, the profits make it worth it.

Megan is less than impressed and is calling on a judge to make amendments.

By contractual definition (which labels float between adhering to and not), an “album” is deemed any long-form release totaling more than 45 minutes. In the rapper’s case, ‘Something For The Hotties’ not only is longer, but it also comes in at 21 original tracks.

In their filing today (February 22), Megan’s legal team argued:

”There are no other parameters or requirements under the contract for what can be deemed an ‘Album’ other than total run time of the album. As such, Something for Thee Hotties satisfies her ‘Minimum Recording Commitment’ for the second option period of the agreement.”

Following the news, 1501 took to Instagram with a unique take on the matter; one which intimated some kind of victory.

In a now-deleted entry, Megan pointed out the post was flawed because it had nothing to do with the current matter at hand and was related to a since resolved side issue with the broader case.

She wrote:

“This dude never know wtf is going on with his business.

The case that Was dismissed against you was from when you wasn’t trying to let me drop music … you and 300 signed off and let me drop music so there is no case no more… we are most definitely STILL IN COURT and YOU STILL GETTING SUED BC YOU OWE ME MONEY!!! I AINT NEVER BEEN PAID FROM 1501 IN MY LIFE ! I make money bc im MEGAN THEE STALLION ! Grown ass men wanna bully me and eat off my name and paint me out as a villain online bc they know these bandwagon ass haters gone eat that shit up ! I dont even be saying shit to you lame ass n****s bc the TRUTH always comes out.”

Suffice to say, the drama rages on.
