The hotly anticipated Michael Jackson big-screen biopic has been snapped up by one of the biggest movie studios in the world.

THR confirms that Lionsgate has secured worldwide rights to the film, which is tentatively titled ‘Michael.’

As reported, the movie is being produced by ‘Bohemian Rhapsody‘s Graham King and will be penned by John Logan (whose credits include ‘The Aviator’ with Martin Scorsese).

The Michael Jackson Estate is also in the mix and has cleared the use of Jackson’s legendary songs. Despite said involvement, it’s promised that the film won’t be a safe-sanitized account, but rather a raw and rare insight into one of – if not the – most famous names in modern history.

The news comes on the heels of the launch of ‘MJ The Musical’ – which Moonwalked onto Broadway last week.

I’m still upset we didn’t get an anniversary to the Dangerous Album with unreleased music like we got for Thriller and Bad.

Look on YouTube, there’s a great “Dangerous 30th Anniversary” documentary. It mentions the many songs Michael Recorded for the album, probably about 50. There was a more straight R&B Recording session but it didnt take make the album. In the line of “Remember The Time” and “In The Closet” getting back to his old 70’s sound.

Arianna Grande should play Michael. They’ll have to lighten her skin and shave down her nose to a butterknife. Plus, the scenes where she assaults little boys in her bed during “sleepovers” will be less gross..

Michael might be the most difficult person to try to capture on screen; the speaking voice, singing voice, performance style, mannerisms… to me it always looks like a caricature when anyone tries to imitate Michael in his adult life.

I wholeheartedly agree, I would rather prefer a documentary – never before behind the scenes, interviews, music creations, intimate moments showcasing his personal matters on the industry, fame, greed, touring, ownership, peers etc

I would prefer this as well, a biopic has been tried on a smaller scale and has failed every time, capturing MJ is just impossible at point. I will say that as far as releasing unseen footage, Michael was so notoriously private and controlling of what got out to the public that by this point, there’s not really any more unseen stuff left. It’s all been leaked online or put out. What’s left is near completed tracks from 1980s-2000s that producers and engineers worked on, but either they won’t give permission to the estate/sony to release them or the estate won’t put them out.

If it’s anything like that bullcrap Flex Alexander (whom I still dislike to this day bc of it) did a long time ago my eyes won’t be watching. Maybe I need to see the trailer first cause nuh-unh…nobody nor his family asked for this 🤷…while ya at it remake that Aaliyah movie..wrong as Fk for doing that woman the way they did
