Nicki Minaj is firing up the promotional engine for her new single ‘Do We Have A Problem? (ft. Lil Baby)’, which drops this Friday.
One of her first stops was the Dana Cortez radio show.
Chopping it up with the anchors, Onika opened up about her return to the music scene with her first single as a lead act in almost three years.
During the candid chat, Minaj unpacked how both pregnancy and motherhood changed her outlook on music. Specifically when it comes to sexually-charged material.

Speaking frankly, the femcee revealed she felt compelled to avoid raunchy material while pregnant with her son and how that ultimately brought with it a broader aversion to what she feels has become “overkill.”
She said:
“Right now I’m back to talking about whatever I want to talk about on the records, but to me…it still feels like overkill…a lot of stuff I’m hearing and even the stuff that people are sending me. If it’s too much of the sexual stuff, it’s just not making me feel super comfortable anymore.”
Minaj also shared that her forthcoming album, her first since 2018’s ‘Queen,’ will bring with it the return of “mixtape Nicki” and see her play to her strengths without focussing on what others are doing.
