The City Girls’ sophomore album, ‘City on Lock,’ may have not unlocked the success of its predecessor, 2018’s ‘Girl Code,’ due to a surprise leak, but what comes as no surprise is the 2020-released set’s singles are still getting love on digital download and streaming outlets.
So much so, the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) has announced the project’s second single – the Doja Cat-assisted ‘P***y Talk’ – has clawed its way to Platinum status.
On January 25, the RIAA took to press to announce ‘P***y Talk’ (also known as ‘Kitty Talk’) had crossed its threshold for Platinum status – meaning it’s sold the equivalence of 1 million copies in the United States alone.
The achievement marks the third time the City Girls have seen a single reach as high of a mark, following the history-making, ‘Act Up’ (3x Platinum) and ‘Twerk’ (1x Platinum).
As of time reported, the only other female Rap duo or group to earn as many Platinum singles is Salt-N-Pepa with their classic hits ‘Push It’ (1x Platinum), ‘Expressions’ (1x Platinum), and ‘Whatta Man’ (1x Platinum).
Yet they will not be as relevant as Fifth Harmony, TLC, DC or Spice Girls
They are more on Cherish and Shareefa level.
Nor m***** wishes her p:u:s:sy is talking
Lol except Salt N Pepa actually SOLD 1 million copies of each of their singles, these chicks probably didn’t even sell 10K copies combined lol 🤣
