Lil Nas X mastered the art of omnipresence during his initial launch with ‘Old Town Road’ and again with the campaign for his debut album ‘Montero.’

Yet, in an interesting move, the star quietly embarked on a hiatus from the spotlight for several months.

Well, today, Nas returned and came bearing the news that new music is on the way.

In trademark form, the 22-year-old addressed his absence quirkily writing:

“why are people surprised i’ve been away for so long? have y’all really never heard of maternity leave?”

Thereafter, when quizzed by a fan about the whereabouts of the “deluxe” edition of ‘Montero,’ the performer revealed that his “new album [is] close to finished.”
Further teasing his sophomore effort, Nas shared a screen of two panels – one touting a collaboration with Saucy Santana and another representing a team-up with rapper YoungBoy Never Broke Again:

News of new Nas material comes as he gears up to perform at the GRAMMY Awards 2022 on April 3.
