Since popping open a bag of Cracker Jill as the face of a new Frito-Lay campaign to empower women in sports, Normani has been in her bag about her long-awaited debut album.
The serially delayed project, which has been promised since 2019, is ‘definitely’ headed to shelves this summer according to one of the R&B diva’s latest interviews.
But, just as her dedicated fans (affectionately called #NormaniNation) prepare themselves for the LP’s arrival, she’s added even more exciting news to accompany its rollout.

Although the songstress was treated to quite the warm reception of her latest buzz single, the breakup ballad ‘Fair,’ she quickly confirmed its high-tempo follow-up wouldn’t be long behind it.
Taking to our friends at EliteDaily, the former Fifth Harmony hitmaker doubled down on the delivery timeframe of the tune as well as its yet-titled parent project.
“I can definitely say that it’s coming in the summer,” the 25-year-old said about her debut album. “…and I can absolutely say — as if absolutely means more than definitely [laughs] — that I have a new record coming in the next month that I’m really excited to put out.”
The announcement of its summer arrival comes shortly after Normani took to BET.com to dish on the concepts set to line the opus.
“You can expect a range — me being my most vocal and authentic than ever before from start to finish. There’s a range from what you can hear from the records I’ve already put out along with the next record I’ll be putting out — there’s so much dimension to me as a person so I really wanted my artistry to reflect that,” she shared. “Sonically, I was able to experiment. I love being in the studio as my playground and production value to me is super important. As a songwriter, I’ve grown tremendously. With me trusting myself, you’ll hear that confidence for sure.”
In addition to the potential of landing a Lil Nas X, Doja Cat, and/or Chloe Bailey feature on the project (as we reported here), ‘Mani fans can expect to see her hit the road in its support.
“A solo tour [is happening] and that’s all I’m gonna say [laughs],” she revealed to ED.
