A warm embrace is exactly what Chris Brown‘s latest album ‘Breezy’ received upon its June 24 release.
Shining with a star-studded guest list of features including the likes of Lil Baby, Lil Durk, Lil Wayne, H.E.R., Wizkid, Ella Mai, Tory Lanez, Bryson Tiller, and many more, the 24-track affair came as the singer’s first solo studio album since topping the Billboard 200 with 2019’s ‘Indigo.’
Like its predecessor, the jam-packed LP was greeted with overall favorable reviews from fans and critics alike. Unlike ‘Indigo,’ ‘Breezy’ entered the chart race as Brown’s first album to lack a Hot 100 top 40 hit to its credit. The lack of buzz would later be reflected in the 60,000-70,000 units the project was initially predicted to shift by the end of its inaugural tracking week.
Curious to see how it fared against the industry analyst predictions? Hop inside to see:
Chris Brown’s ‘Breezy’
First Week Sales (SPS): 72,000 units
Billboard 200 Debut: #4
According to Billboard, ‘Breezy’ comes as the week’s top R&B debut thanks to shifting a total sum of 72,000 units its first week – a figure comprised mostly of streaming-powered activity (approximately 66,000 units which equals 87.36 million on-demand official streams of the album’s 24 tracks).
Entering this week’s Billboard 200 at #4, the project marks the singer’s 11th consecutive studio album to visit the chart territory.
Arguably due to the set’s soft promotional roll out, ‘Breezy’ may have won on the critical front but its chart arrival was accompanied by the second-lowest premiere numbers of his career to date. Only the R&B bad boy’s 2017 LP ‘Heartbreak on a Full Moon’ sold less when it entered the Billboard 200 at #3 with 68,000 units sold its first week.

Ok and? The albums still trash. Absolutely no growth as an artist whatsoever, making the same song month after month year after year.
You clearly didn’t listen to the album. He shockingly did show growth on this album. The last few all sounded the same though.
I did listen to the album. Same b******* same vocal layering same subject matters. It’s tiered tbh
Seriously who still listens to Chris Brown in 2022 besides low vibrational f*** boys who have podcasts set up in their mama basement.
This dude still ain’t seen a platinum album and it’s safe to say will never. He might as well retire it’s evident no one will care.
This is not true his first 2 albums definitely went platinum. After that the rihanna thing made sales harder for him but I know he had at least a couple more platinum albums I’m sure the “fame” album is platinum and no I didn’t feel like googling to fact check.
Are you dumb? Every Chris brown album is platinum EXCEPT graffiti. Dummy
Yeah, platinum thanks to streaming. No one is going out and purchasing his albums.
No they weren’t. His first was his first was his absolute best and 2nd was runner up. That’s it. Breezy I’d clock as his third after 11 albums all he has is 3 good ones. That isn’t growth. He did better but not where he should be now. If you really want to go there most of the songs on the album include other artists more than him 😂. He gets an A for effort tho.
Are u sure that Chris doesn’t have a platinum album… you may wanna go back and recheck because he has quite a few…
He is right every album he has is platinum except Graffiti and the new Breezy album. Also 2 of his singles is 8x platinum, sooner or later he will have 2 diamond single.
I mean those are good numbers for this climate. His peers aren’t selling close to that these days… breezy is always consistent. He’s an album seller.
Whose his peers??? Becuz I’m sure they are
Don’t be a hater
Who even listens to Chris Brown in 2022 besides low vibrational f-boys who have podcasts in their mamas basements? Real talk lol.
6k pure album sales? Lmfaooooo
And still debut at #4 dude plz
The problem with 🤜🏽 brown is he always has too many fillers on the album. Keep it at 12 songs. 24 songs is too damn much! Dayum
He does that to help his steaming numbers lol. Longer albums generate more streams which help certify it faster.
That’s what keeps his albums interesting… you can see for yourself that he has the potential to write a track for days… 24 songs ain’t bad and normal for an artist these days. Back when i was growin up.. you were mighty lucky if you saw 8 to 12. He has 2 double disc sets which I don’t get where yall get 45 songs or more from…
Chris is getting older and his music should reflect that. He has some decent songs on the album….nothing to write home about. That seems to be the theme with most of his albums. He’s so focused on trynna be a gangster instead of making real impact. Where’s his Confessions? His Thriller? 12 Play? And I’m not even speaking on sales….just pure impact and legacy.
I actually hate the back of his permed white boy hair on the cover smh
His sound is dated and too many rap features. All this good R&B we have now: Lucky Daye, Giveon, Vedo, Tone Stith, PJ Morton, Silk Sonic ; who needs Chris Browns junk. I thought he would be inspired instead it’s the same old same old.
Go take a look in the mirror! You’ll see what real junk is
His albums are way to long. 10 – 14 tracks is perfect
Breezy Is The Album for This Hot Summer Months It’s Got Something Everyone Can VIBE To!!! Let’s Also Embrace All Other Artist Who He Shared his MUSIC With. Lots Of Luv Chris Keep That Free Young SPIRIT It A GIFT💝💝💝😘😎
I mean… considering no radio hit from this album I consider this pretty good?
This is y’all KING OF R&B?
ok.
way better than drakes BS half ass album… CB narrowed it down from hundreds of songs and it shows
I have listened to the album and I love it. The collaborations, sound, and the bass of the songs are amazing. I can see that Chris Brown has put out a lot of work on his recent albums. The Album Breezy has 33 tracks and they are all well organized and set. I am in Jamaica and I have been listening to Chris since 2005. I am a big fan and I see the amount of God given talent he has. He is a G.O.A.T.
