Published: Saturday 3rd Sep 2022 by Sam

Michael Jackson‘s ‘Thriller,’ the biggest selling album of all time, is set to thrill on in celebration of its latest milestone.

Full story below…

As reported, this November brings with it the 40th anniversary of the game-changing LP – which is home to classics such as ‘Billie Jean,’ ‘Beat It,’ and its titan-sized title track.

Aptly christened ‘Michael Jackson Thriller 40,’ the special edition release of the project will include a bonus CD of rarities, demos, and more.

Now, in tandem with the launch of pre-order availability, Sony Music and the Estate of Michael Jackson have announced specific roll-out plans.

It’ll see the titles of the ten bonus tracks revealed one at a time, beginning after Labor Day (September 5) with the last track being revealed close to the double CD’s official release on November 18.

Furthermore, 15 additional tracks (which have been in a limited capacity in the past) will also feature in an expanded digital incarnation of ‘Thriller 40.’

And there are broader plans to ensure a seismic celebration of the LP – which won 8-GRAMMYs and forever changed the course of music, videos, and Pop culture. Single-handedly.

For, global pop-up events and activations are in the works too.

Unleashed on November 30, 1982, ‘Thriller’ has sold over 100 million copies and spent over 500 weeks on the Billboard album charts.

Saying “king tings” as the writer, ugh *cringe*

Yes, very cringe. Like when DR Evil tried out Austin Power’s catch phrase in gold member. 😂

Thriller did NOT sell 100 Million, it stalled at 70M. Albums typically sell dbl there US figures. Thriller sold like 35M US and 70M WW.

This Pédòfile was replaced by the new kings of pop (chris brown, usher, Justin Timberlake, justin beiber, harry styles, bruno mars). Still Can’t believe MJ only won 15 grammys, that’s pathetic. 😂

You know one believes or cares about your thoughts🤷🏾‍♀️

You seem triggered with that retarded comment. We’re you molested as a kid?

To put things into perspective I can name only one tune among all the singers mentioned and that’s by Timberlake. I can name probably the majority of MJ’s tunes including the ones from the Jackson 5. There’s a reason for that. Most of today’s music is not memorable.

Michael Jackson had 13 number one songs 😂 PATHETIC. THE BEATLES had like 20 and sold more records than MJ. 🤣

Usher is the NEW KING OF POP. CONFESSIONS sold 15 Million, Mj’s INCONVENIENCE Album stalled at 8 million. 😂

You yourself acknowledged that Thriller is 34x platinum in the U.S., yet in your eyes Usher is the new king of pop with a 10x platinum (not 15x) album. That makes no sense. Usher has never even made a pop album and all but two of his nine #1s are r&b.

Wow. How ignorant are these comments?
How many records have any of you sold? 😂
ANYWAY, having said that, this is still disappointing. The artwork for this edition as well as all the merch etc is so lazy. The 25th anniversary stuff was far superior – this is THRILLER! The estate really ought to hire a better team to handle a project like this. Not worthy of the King IMO. Hope it does well regardless. 👑✨

No one will ever touch Michael Jackson in sales, music or career. Unlike Elvis and the Beatles, Michael’s career spanned multiple decades with fans around the world of various ages and races. He had fans of all ages and races screaming and fainting over him. Michael’s career spanned from his childhood to an adult with hits throughout multiple decades. The Beatles and Elvis didn’t accomplish this feat. Also, Michael had influenced many artists from New Edition, Usher, the two Justins, Bruno Mars and so many others. Also, Michael was an icon in dance and fashion. The only thing the Beatles influenced were their mop top hairdos and the swivel moves Elvis did as well as his hairstyle were copied from Jackie Wilson. Someone here called MJ a p********. Evan Chandler (who committed s****** the same year Michael died) and Janet Arvizo, the parents of the accusers, were after money. The jury saw through the Arvizos and Michael was acquitted of all charges. When Wade Robson and Jimmy Safechuck couldn’t get any money from MJ’s estate, they changed their stories to say Michael molested them. It was all about money. Even Wade Robson’s mom at one time called her son a liar (Google it). Michael also had fans of different races around the world. Elvis and the Beatles core audiences were white. There are many who are jealous that Michael Jackson, a black man, was so influential, so powerful, having many fans around the world and haters wanted to bring him down. And for the one who called Michael a p******** here, didn’t Elvis get with Oriscilla when she was a t***? What was in his mind? Just saying! No one, no one, will ever touch what Michael has done in the music industry. You can keep calling MJ a pervert, a p******** abd you can call me names too, I don’t care, but Michael’s place as the king of pop is cemented in history from the 70s to the 2000s and as Liz Taylor said in MJ’s interview with Oprah “No one can touch him.” Period!
