As reported, the former Little Mix star parted ways with her record label less than a year after releasing her one and only solo single to date ‘Boyz.’

Though touted as amicable, the news ignited ample discourse. Especially in the wake of the drama that followed the release of the Nicki Minaj-assisted track. Indeed, accusations of “blackfishing” were rife and a public spat with Nelson’s former bandmates played out on social media timelines.

All the while the 31-year-old assured that her debut solo album was imminent.

Now, after taking a break from the spotlight, Nelson re-activated her Instagram account and shared the following message:

“Hello, my beautiful people, I am back!

I decided I needed a bit of a social media break and it did me the world of good. I have missed you all so much. Thank you to all my amazing fans for being so loyal and patient.

I promise you there will be music soon, but wanted to make sure it was perfect! Keep your eyes out for some clues. But IT IS coming early next year.”
