Chris Brown did not take to the stage at Sunday night’s 2022 American Music Awards, but that didn’t stop the star from being the most talked about aspect of the evening.
C. Breezy made headlines when he revealed that a planned tribute performance saluting the 40th anniversary of Michael Jackson‘s ‘Thriller’ album was “scrapped for reasons unknown.”
With fans equally downtrodden by the news (especially in light of Ciara shared she too was set to join Brown on-stage), a rep for the AMAs has shed light on the reason the plug was pulled.

In a statement to Entertainment Tonight, a spokesperson for DCP (who produce the show) explained:
“Live shows change all the time, it’s the nature of this business; unfortunately, this element of the AMAs didn’t come together as we couldn’t align on the performance, to no fault of Chris Brown.”
Sigh.

It’s the producer’s job to make things work for all presenters and performers, so either the producers are inept at their job or someone who hates Chris couldn’t stomach the thought of him stealing the spotlight and canceled him. Either way, they messed up and they owe an honest explanation and apology.
Yea that’s b.s and doesn’t happen all the time or stars wouldn’t agree to perform and if they do they wouldn’t prepare a complex show in case it gets canceled.
Keep cancelling tributes to mj and yhe audience will keep cancelling you. Just saying, thats the gist im getting from fans online. Keep it up. U cant decide what ppl want to see.
