New Video: Stormzy – ‘Firebabe’

Published: Thursday 10th Nov 2022 by Sam

Stormzy has unlocked ‘Firebabe’ – the latest single from his forthcoming album ‘This Is What I Mean.’

The British Rap royal premiered the track alongside its accompanying music video, which was directed by  Edem Wornoo.

Piercing and potent, ‘Firebabe’ – which follows lead single ‘Hide & Seek’ – finds the MC bearing his emotions in earnest.

Speaking on the song (which was produced by George Moore and features additional vocals by Stormzy’s 0207 Def Jam labelmate Debbie, Sampha, and Jacob Collier), the star said:

“Debbie, George [Moore] and I got in the studio together and it was the most beautiful moment. It was a session I’ll never forget, for the rest of my life. It was extremely special and everyone in the room understood that. We were making something that hopefully, God willing, lives forever. Something that has soul and feeling and it came from a really pure place. We took a truth and made some art from it.”

Watch the visual after the jump…

The video arrives on the heels of Stormzy announcing a super special (and exclusive) 2023 UK date.

Ever one to trailblaze, the star has curated his very own day as part of the Luno presents All Points East festival on August 18, 2023 at London’s Victoria Park.

Aptly christened ‘This Is What We Mean Day,’ it’ll see the chart force perform on a bill comprised of an eclectic collection of artists he’s selected – both known and new.
