Lady Gaga is no stranger to headlines, but February 2021 brought with it one of the oddest and most frightening for the performer.

For, in a shocking attack, the superstar’s dog walker Ryan Fischer was shot and her two dogs were stolen. It was an incident that investigating authorities believe to have been a targeted hit.

At the time, Gaga offered a $500,000 reward for the safe return of her pups.

Two days after the callous action, the dogs were returned by Jennifer McBride.

Shortly after, her boyfriend James Howard Jackson was arrested, named as the primary culprit, and charged on multiple counts.

Now, a damning sentence has been handed down.

After pleading no contest to one count of attempted murder and admitting to inflicting great bodily injury as well as a prior offense, Jackson was given a 21-year prison sentence by a Los Angeles court.

A statement from the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office read:

“The plea agreement holds Mr Jackson accountable for perpetrating a cold-hearted violent act and provides justice for our victim.” 

McBride was also charged as an accomplice and will be sentenced next year.

Accomplice Harold White plead no contest to a count of being an ex-convict in possession of a gun, while Jaylin White pled no contest to second-degree robbery and has already been sentenced to four years in state prison.
