The Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) took to press Friday (April 14) to announce Camila Cabello‘s ‘Familia‘ hit ‘Bam Bam‘ has been welcomed to her family of Platinum hits.

A year after the Ed Sheeran-assisted ‘Bam’ blasted to its #21 peak on the Hot 100 (becoming her 8th top 40 hit in the process), the Ricky Reed-produced bop has become her 11th Platinum-certified solo single. The measure denotes sales equivalence of 1 million units in the United States.
The tune’s lift to Platinum at the RIAA brings her cumulative single sales to 22.5 million in the country.
The second official single from 2022’s ‘Familia’ album and second collaboration between Cabello and Sheeran overall (following 2019’s ‘South of the Border’), ‘Bam’ was an out-of-the-box success at the height of its popularity – marking her second-highest premiere on the Hot 100 with its #23 debut. At writing, only the #2 opening of 2019’s ‘Senorita‘ with ex-boyfriend Shawn Mendes arrived higher.
Serving as the era’s breakout hit, ‘Bam’ eventually finished its 20-week run as the only single from ‘Familia’ to land in the chart region.
