After ample (and often confusing) teasing, Doja Cat has finally given her beloved fans (affectionately called #Kittens) their first taste of what’s set to come on her forthcoming fourth studio album: ‘First Of All.’
Titled ‘Attention,’ the cut’s Friday (June 16) arrival came as a surprise announcement just Tuesday (June 13) and was quickly followed with a video teaser to whet appetites.
“Baby, if you like it, just reach out and pet it / This one doesn’t bite, it doesn’t get aggressive / Show you how to touch it, hold it like it’s precious /It don’t need your lovin’, it just needs attention,” she raps on the Y2K-produced track.
Fulfilling her promise to veer away from the sounds that lined her last two albums, ‘Hot Pink’ and ‘Planet Her,’ look inside to hear and see how Doja kept her word on ‘Attention’ (along with its Tanu Muino-directed music video).

Bey is definitely not the only artist who has copied Kelis style or been inspired. Doja, like many others have NEVER credited Kelis as one of their INFLUENCE.

You know what? Sometimes it’s not so much her “influence” but rather the fact that’s she’s done so much experimentally and aesthetically FIRST. The newer generation of artists will do it now and have no idea that kelis did it already.
