DJs weren’t the only ones playing Cher‘s Christmas song after she rocked the annual Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade on Thursday (November 23).

Headlining a lineup that featured big names like Brandy, En Vogue, Bell Biv Devoe, Pentatonix, Jon Batiste, and more, the EMMY, GRAMMY, & OSCAR-winning diva delivered the first televised performance of ‘DJ Play a Christmas Song‘ – the lead single from her inaugural holiday album ‘Christmas.’

In the day that followed, the Mark Taylor-produced song zoomed up real-time sales tallies to #1 – even hopping over perennial chart-toppers like ‘All I Want for Christmas’ (Mariah Carey), ‘The Christmas Song’ (Nat King Cole), ‘Rockin Around the Christmas Tree’ (Brenda Lee), and ‘White Christmas’ (Bing Crosby).

And while ‘DJ’ has yet to spin onto the Hot 100 or the Billboard Holiday Songs chart, it opened at #3 on Billboard‘s Dance/Electronic Digital Song Sales listing as the week’s top-selling debut in late October.

What’s more, its October 20-released parent album made history when it premiered inside the top 40 of the Billboard 200 and even arrived at #1 on Billboard‘s Top Holiday Albums list.
