Lauryn Hill has had enough!

Despite developing quite the reputation for being extremely tardy to her own shows over the years (or canceling at the last minute), Hill continues to be a touring force thanks to her Diamond-certified debut solo album, 1998’s ‘Miseducation,’ and hits she collected prior to that with Fugees.

In celebration of the timeless LP’s 25th anniversary, Lauryn took to press earlier this year to announce she would be going on a global tour in 2023.

Buzz for the September-launched jaunt quickly went south as reports flooded in the R&B/Hip-Hop diva – when not axing appearances all together – was habitually late for performances, citing health issues as the main reason.

As the negative attention continues to plague the outing, she finally addressed the hoopla in a stinging reprimand to critics.

During the Los Angeles stop of the “Miseducation of Lauryn Hill 25th Anniversary Tour” on Saturday night (November 4), the GRAMMY-winning songstress kept it all the way real about those who have criticized her for excessive tardiness.

“People say that she’s late,” Lauryn started in the fan-captured clip. “’She’s late”; so what? Yo, y’all lucky I make it on this stage every night!”

Later in the rant, Hill also dished on why she’s still touring off ‘Miseducation’ nearly three decades later instead of promoting new music.

“When the album sold so many records and no one showed up and said ‘hey, would you like to make another?’ So I went around the world and I played the same album over and over and over and over again,” she said.

The commentary comes as the latest headline-grabbing incident from the tour which has been plagued with mixed reviews for the singer’s lateness, cancellations, and sometimes less-than-stellar vocal performances she says are the result of “serious case of vocal strain/injury.”

    Mmmmmmmk

At this point, her fans know what to expect

  2. #TheTruth November 5, 2023

She’s full of herself and doesn’t respect her audience.
She didn’t take care of her voice.
And the fact she never released new music… once again she doesn’t care about her fans.

Seen her live after waiting one hour and a half lol it was worth the wait for the show but this whole speech and stance is bs

Gurl bye! One album and that’s it!

  5. DaAAAaaaaaaaaaaaaaa November 5, 2023

No girl, respect the people who paid to see you and stfu

The only reason this tramp even tours is to pay off that huge tax bill she racked up several years ago. It has nothing to do with God, the love of music and damn sure not her fans. I wouldn’t pay to hear her horribly remix her 25 year old songs then on top of that being unapologetically late to every single performance, f*** her lmao.

  7. Russell Thuy November 5, 2023

She’s ridiculous, a narcissist. Her fans know how she rolls, they deserve whatever she gives.

  8. Coolness808 November 5, 2023

She is so confusing. What does she mean no one showed up to ask her to make a follow up to ‘Miseducation’? I could have sworn people were CLAMORING for new music. And what does that have to do with being habitually late and disrespectful to your audience?

Lauryn: I was never asked for a follow-up to “Miseducation.”
Label: you had a 5-album contract! You stalled 3 decades to get out of it.
    Fans: 👀

Yall some fragmented dummies for clapping for that, and enabling her bullisht. Yall should have booed, not cheered. I wish I would spend my time, money, and gas to go see one album Lauryn, and her show up late to tell me that I’M lucky. Girl, catch me outside.

Lauryn has been OFF for years lmaooo I wouldn’t watch her perform for free in my living room😭😭😭

As much as I love Ms. Lauryn Hill’s talent, I learned a long time ago don’t buy a ticket to her show and expect her to be on time. She’s wrong for her constant tardiness to her own show. It’s sheer arrogance the way she treats the patrons of her shows.
