‘Snooze’: SZA Hit Surpasses Rihanna For Record of Most Weeks at #1 on Billboard R&B Chart (Among Women)

Thanks to her ‘SOS‘ hit ‘Snooze‘ R&B singer SZA has woken up to yet another historic feat on the Billboard charts.

Perusal of the current Hot R&B Songs index shows ‘Snooze’ listed at #1 for a whopping 23rd week, extending its run as the second longest-running chart-topper by a female in the hitlist’s history.

The Babyface-produced tune stands as runner-up to SZA’s own ‘Kill Bill‘ which enjoyed a 30-week run at the top.

When the duration of the #1 stays of her career on this chart are combined the GRAMMY winner’s cumulative reign tallies at 57 weeks – making her now the Hot R&B Songs’ undisputed Queen.

The previous champion, Rihanna, saw her chart-toppers aggregate tenancy total 55 weeks. At writing, however, Rih remains the female performer with the most #1 hits (6) while SZA trails with 5.

Among all artists, the only acts to have spent more weeks at the top of this chart are Canadian hitmakers Drake and The Weekend – the latter being the first and only to have accumulated more than 100 separate frames at #1.

For context, the Hot R&B Songs list ranks the 25 most popular R&B songs in America based on urban radio airplay, digital download sales, and streaming data.

    We know y’all all happy cause SZA passed Rihanna. It’s party time at tgj Rhianna slipped off top. Cause everybody thought this would not happen
