Billboard 200: Jennifer Lopez’s ‘This Is Me…Now’ Predicted to Miss the Top 20 Despite Being the Week’s Top-Selling Album

Published: Saturday 24th Feb 2024 by Rashad

Jennifer Lopez mounted a massive campaign in promotion of the February 16-releasedThis Is Me…Now‘  – her first LP since 2014’s ‘A.K.A.’

Buoyed by the lead single, the Latto-assisted ‘Can’t Get Enough,’ as well as its title track and follow-up ‘Rebound,’ ‘Now’ – the conceptual follow-up to 2002’s ‘This Is Me…Then‘ – saw its chart battle armed with the support of a Prime Video musical film of the same name that aided many of its tracks with music videos.

And while the ‘Now’ singles failed to impact the Hot 100 ahead of their parent project’s arrival to digital shelves, that didn’t stop buzz around the set as it quickly soared to the top of real-time sales outlets around the world shortly after its release.

Look inside to see how that out-of-the-box success is predicted to translate to chart placement.

Jennifer Lopez’s ‘This Is Me…Now’

Predicted First-Week Sales (SPS):  21,100 units

Predicted First-Week Sales (Pure): 16,400 units

Predicted Billboard 200 Debut:  #28

According to HDD, Lopez’s ‘This Is Me…Now’ finished its inaugural tracking period with 16,000 units sold – the most of any album this week.

And while the multi-hyphenate diva will likely land atop Billboard’s refreshed Album Sales chart next week, her total sum (SPS) of 21,000 – which includes a modest streaming figure of approximately 5,000 – is predicted to see her printed between #25-#30 on the Billboard 200.

Should the forecast hold true it will mark the first time J.Lo’s missed the top 20 with a studio album as all of her previous efforts – ‘On the 6‘ (#8), ‘J.Lo‘ (#1), ‘This Is Me…Then’ (#2), ‘Rebirth‘ (#2), ‘Como Ama Una Mujer‘ (#1), ‘Brave‘ (#12), ‘Love?‘ (#5), and ‘A.K.A.’ (#8) – opened within the all-genre chart’s topmost quadrant.

Keep it locked to That Grape Juice for more on this story after the Billboard 200 publishes on Tuesday (February 27).

    • Kiyah February 24, 2024

Asked my friend who’s been bed ridden for the last week and had major surgery if she’s been streaming Texas Hold ‘Em and she said “What’s that?”

      FLOP!

      • MecostaDenada February 24, 2024

Chile, I ain’t heard that song being played nowhere. She probably bought all those streams and relied heavily on payola. Beyonce doesn’t care HOW she wins. She just understands that it works if people SEE her win.

      • UHoesFunny February 24, 2024

LOL 😂 not to talking to yourself. But if this helps you sleep at night 😴 Texas Hold ‘Em is STILL #1 on Billboard Hot 100 and will be next week also 🤣🤣🤣🤣

      • Omg February 24, 2024

  3. Astafirullah February 24, 2024

In other news.. Texas’s by Bey failed to reach #1 on Billboard Hot 100!! 🙁

    • Truth February 24, 2024

      Duh?! No surprise

  4. Paulo February 24, 2024

Wow. I’m not really shocked at her flopping but the fact the week’s top pure sales is only 16k. Considering artists only get pennies put of streaming, this is really the death of the music industry 💀

    • DaAAAaaaaaaaaaaaaaa February 24, 2024

Yeah that’s why today’s music is mostly trash

  5. Mr Ling Ling 👩‍🌾 February 24, 2024

Beyoncé’s TEXAS HOLD ‘EM making it to my top 5 most repeated songs while in the toilet 🤣

  6. WTFark February 24, 2024

Beyonce’s songs also recorded lukewarm receptions as well.

  7. No surprised….where is your fav? February 24, 2024

  9. MecostaDenada February 24, 2024

It’s too white, Chile. Sorry, but sleeping with Ben has made her bland. She went from Jenny from the Block to Jenny from the Burbs.

  10. Tino February 24, 2024

And people had something to say about Usher who did 53k in pure sales and 48 million in streaming after a 30 year career.

    • DaAAAaaaaaaaaaaaaaa February 24, 2024

      And a Superbowl… That’s why…

      • GrowUpDollz February 24, 2024

Yeah usher totally isn’t that big eggplant in the industry that they make him out to be. It’s the kinda talent that needs a microwave, cuz it got cook idk idk he just isn’t the superstar; a lot of folks just aren’t the superstars the blogs and fans hype them up to be. They don’t suck it’s just facts to set the records straight cuz the #1s n Grammys be lyin sometimes. That’s all.

      • Tino February 24, 2024

Super Bowl had nothing to do with it, he didn’t even perform one song from Coming Home on national tv or during the halftime show. Jlo been and performed on Saturday Night Live and multiple other shows. Plus have a entire damn movie but still couldn’t crack 20k pure sales or get a song to crack the hot 100.

      • Tino February 24, 2024

@GrowUpDollz you sound EXTRA DUMB AF. Usher 30 year career with over 150 million records of pure sales and the most number one songs by a male R&B/Pop artist since Michael Jackson have already cemented his legacy.

Furthermore GREATS like Michael Jackson, James Brown, Whitney Houston, Janet Jackson, Anita Baker, Stevie Wonder and Patti Labelle have all stamped Usher talent with approval and administration. SO WHO TF IS YOU??

  11. Whaaaat?? February 24, 2024

Texas Hold ‘Em in Greece 🙂 🙂

  12. Flopwood February 24, 2024

    A CINEMATIC FLOP

  13. Texas Flops Around the World???? 😂😂 February 24, 2024

    Music nowadays ..$ucks…

  14. BEY-A-CULPA February 24, 2024

I still cant get over how many Canadian songwriters are on Beyonce’s Country Music moment. Like what the f*** are yall thinking? And J Lo. U the only one who actually still needs Diddy to be lit. Let’s face it. After that nightclub you became white honey and the white girls only got 16k for you every time. No shade Jenny needs to come back to the Bronx and do West Side Story as one of the extras; She needs to be J.Lo-key and get that cute sustainable coin somewhere, never shade Janet Jackson, or Mariah again and just don’t make music anymore. It was a great run but you’d be a great model for Sekred or w/e Beyonce is selling. We love you but you made the flop feather bed you lay in. Thanks for calling. Good bye.

    • DaAAAaaaaaaaaaaaaaa February 24, 2024

That’s a lot of text for a hater. She’s a millionaire, do you really think she cares about your comments? 😂

She made it just for fun, that’s her hobby, her money
keeps coming from her her beauty products and movies.

      • GrowUpDollz February 24, 2024

        I *STILL* don’t know her.

  15. eric February 24, 2024

I’m surprised, but I shouldn’t be. In this streaming age, albums are basically free for the consumer and artists get their money back from high-priced tours.

  16. Aj February 24, 2024

All the haters forget the movie and documentary, the fact it was all self funded and she’s now an ndependent artist. Pure sales for an independent artist matter what more than streams. It’s more money in her pocket.

She’ll be pocketing $350,000 dollars from sales (which then she’ll have to distribute per royalties). She probably won’t recoup the $20m she spent but it’s clearly a passion project. The album isn’t bad at all. Worldwide sales (INC US) look to be about 75-80k sold. So her take home before royalties is probably $1.5m. This doesn’t count for advertising, sponsorships (Dolby Atmos and Apple Music), royalties from the apple music special, the amazon deal for the movie and documentary, radio and PRS for the singles, YouTube for the music videos. She’ll probably make $3-4m in total this first month. The tour is selling well too

    • Flopwood February 24, 2024

Isaa FLOP no matter how you try and spin it lol

      • Aj February 25, 2024

But she never pretended she was releasing the album of the century etc. It was always therapy music. And she’s even said she might not release another album. She’s blessed – the original triple threat (dancer, actor, singer). She’s opened doors for Black and Latin x women and made her mark. There’s nothing left to prove at this point. When you’re wealthy, success doesn’t mean a number one album if your goal was to tell a story, heal etc. Quit hating and support the music industry, particularly women who aren’t white!!

    • GrowUpDollz February 24, 2024

These h*** not Taylor Swift they got bills to pay, I’m sure Benny taking coins home too. J.LO, Beyonce does being white better. Yall so fake lmaoo

  17. Dr. Feelgood February 24, 2024

Of course, she cares & hurts deep inside that she flopped so horribly after all that she has $pent literally, emotionally & vaukally with help from Stevie Mackey for this trifektafail. Bless his good heart & all her millions, guy can only do so much squeezing of green blood out of her rocks that fool no one. Train wreck all around. Can’t get enough of can’t help staring in awe.

    • GrowUpDollz February 24, 2024

okayyyyyy lmaoo no shade God Bless her wishing her the best. She’s a nice lady but she tried it a lot of times in her career low n high key

  18. Big Shanice coming thru February 24, 2024

It ain’t a good album. She out of touch wit what’s poppin. Girl can’t get a hit since on da floor.

Back to da drawing bored baby girl. I be waiting.

  19. Adam February 25, 2024

Her album como what ever did not debut or peak at #1 lol it was #10. Report the facts.

  20. Linda February 26, 2024

imo she is #1 on physical sales which is good considering her being 2 decades in teh business and still shinning and selling arenas . the haters can kiss her big fat ass

    • Me February 28, 2024

She doesn’t have a big fat ass anymore

  21. Tiff February 26, 2024

Jennifer Lopez’z self aggrandizing antics are are laughable at this point. This entire project should’ve been scrapped once the funding fell through. She promoted the hell out of this on every talk show and podcast, so I’m a little surprised it’s such a a flop. A TWENTY MILLION DOLLAR FLOP TO BE EXACT!! The album itself just isn’t very good and streaming numbers don’t lie. She better stick to formulaic Rom-Coms..lol

    • Linda February 27, 2024

fyi she invested herself for this project and secured 30M $ when she sold it to amazon you dumb . it s a win win for her . she is super smart

  22. mkkk February 26, 2024

Unless the people who run this blog are typing these messages themselves to have some form of engagement im worried that some of you might have literal mental illness. What possesses you all to be sop negative on a blog that these artist will never even read? This is actual insanity.

  23. Nabeel haffar February 27, 2024
