Legendary film director Spike Lee made headlines earlier this year when it was announced he would be helming an English-language reinterpretation of the Japanese crime thriller ‘High and Low.’
Tapping fellow Academy Award winner Denzel Washington to star, the project will mark the fifth collaboration between the two over their illustrious careers.
Among the new (and unexpected) cast members to join the movie’s fold is Ice – the GRAMMY-nominated rapstress whose biggest hits have come via collaborations with Nicki Minaj, Taylor Swift, Pink Pantheress, and others.
A busy season for Ice, reports have it she’s already begun shooting for the project alongside Denzel.
The film news drops as she prepares for the release of her debut studio album, ‘Y2K,’ which is due on digital shelves later this year.
As for the film, there’s no tentative release date attached yet for its theatrical premiere or eventual unveiling on AppleTV+.
