Usher is heading to the ESSENCE Festival of Culture 2024 and he’s bringing the celebration of his monumental ‘Confessions’ album with him.

Moments ago, organizers for the New Orleans spectacle confirmed that the King of R&B will serve as one of the headliners for the ESSENCE Festival’s milestone 30th anniversary.

He joins previously announced performers Janet Jackson, Birdman & Friends, and Charlie Wilson, who are toplining the July 4-7 extravaganza.

In a move that will no doubt thrill fans, Usher will perform the ‘Confessions’ 20th-anniversary set he had scheduled for the Lovers & Friends 2024 earlier this month. As reported, that festival was canceled less than 24 hours before showtime due to weather conditions.

Interestingly, Usher appeared to tease his ESSENCE showing when quizzed about the possibility of moving his hotly anticipated Lovers & Friends set to this year’s show while arriving at the MET Gala.

Usher’s ESSENCE performance will arrive on the heels of his epic showing at the Super Bowl and ahead of its mammoth ‘Past Present Future’ tour.
