More details have emerged from the chaotic altercation between Travis Scott and music executive Alexander ‘AE’ Edwards during their time in Cannes on Thursday (May 23) that’s continuing to rock headlines.
Kelly Rowland isn’t the only music superstar garnering international attention after a snafu in Cannes this week.
As captured on video by an onlooker (seen above), multiple men are seen swinging at each other as drinks fly and security personnel attempt to intervene and break up the fisticuffs to restore order.
Later, the parties involved were identified as Edwards (who is currently dating Pop icon Cher) and the 10x GRAMMY nominee Scott.
“Travis Scott and Tyga attended Richie Akiva’s amfAR after party as guests of Richie. At one point in the evening, both artists were on stage, behind the DJ booth, when Richie announced them both on stage alongside Alexander Edwards, and others. Right after that announcement, Travis immediately snatched the mic out of Richie’s hand, and said, ‘No, we’re not doing this.’ Alexander said, ‘Let him show love,'” an eyewitness said of the moments leading up to the violent encounter.
According to the spectator, Scott was joined by Southside and attempted to push Edwards off the stage due to his intervention, prompting AE to push back and pull Travis off the stage.
The struggle escalated into a scuffle while Tyga refrained from getting involved, although it’s being reported the ‘Rack City’ rapper’s assistant did join the fight to assist Edwards.
As of time of this post no serious injuries have been reported nor have any of the involved parties issued official statements on the matter.
While it’s not been confirmed what the true impetus of Scott’s initial Tyga diss was, fan theories on social media speculate it’s related to reality star and beauty mogul Kylie Jenner (whom both rappers dated).
I don’t believe Tyga has jealous towards Travis about, Kylie. I believe Tyga wants a paternity test for Stormi.
