The Predictions Are In! Dua Lipa’s ‘Radical Optimism’ Album Set to Sell…

Published: Saturday 4th May 2024 by Sam

Dua Lipa finally unlocked her third studio album ‘Radical Optimism’ on the masses this week.

Arriving on the towering heels of hit-filled sophomore LP ‘Future Nostalgia,’ the eagerly awaited set sees the British belle team with the likes of Kevin Parker and Andrew Wyatt on a project that anchors its sound in “1970s-era psychedelia.

The masses received a taste of what’s on offer by way of preceding singles ‘Houdini,’ ‘Training Season,’ and ‘Illusion.’

With the album now available, the first week sales predictions are in.

Find out how the numbers are stacking up below…

According to Hits Daily Double, ‘Radical Optimism’ is pacing towards a debut with the following US sales:

 55,000-65,000
Sales Plus Streaming Units

The sum will see Lipa nab a top 10 start on the Billboard 200, though it won’t be enough to dethrone Taylor Swift’s ‘The Tortured Poets Department’ (which is on track to score a third week at #1).

Interestingly, the current forecast sees the singer eyeing a launch akin to that of ‘Future Nostalgia’ – which opened with 66,000 in 2020.

Consistency is better than flopping I guess???

      Not when you’re consistently FLOPPING

After selling over 4 million last time, the opening week should have been much higher.

I think she’ll improve if she releases a deluxe edition like she normally does. Taylor is going to be number 1 for another week.

  3. Optimism May 4, 2024

Dua should have released her album before Taylor. Never release an album around the same time as Adele, Beyonce or Taylor. They typically stay at number 1 for weeks. She should have released her album around the last time in February.

I like the album more than I expected. Terrible single choices though, and terrible cover art.

  5. Liam May 4, 2024

The album has longevity they’re better songs on the album than the singles released so she will be fine.

Love the album! Her team did an excellent job! This album will go on to be successful. Future Nostalgia according hits daily double sold 66k first week and has now sold 4.3 million. Knowing Dua and her label they will release more videos and songs. If she debuts at number 2 or 3 it’s still a win for her. It just shows she’s improving!

Numbers are a joke nowadays and doesn’t reflect if an album is good or not. I mean, just look at The Tortured Ear Infections, that album did numbers but rates a TERRIBLE 6.0 scoring and is an absolute BORE 😴 Keep your head up Dua. The numbers don’t matter. Even McDonald’s have the most sells at the end of the week, but that doesn’t mean it’s good for you 🍔🍟

Cry about it hater. Your fave is very annoying and over rated.

    • TPD May 5, 2024

Numbers only don’t matter when it’s your flop fave 😴

    FLOP

Expecting this to be #1 was radically optimistic, i guess.

But seriously, 55k WITH streaming sales (which are fake sales) is diabolic lol. If streaming didn’t exist these artists would be homeless.

Do yo Queen Thang. unlike payola Taylor and Beyonce.

If an album that ended up selling over 4 million copies opened at 66k, the followup album should debut at a much higher number. This new album is going to tank in week 2.
