Good things come to those who wait; just ask Tyla.
Nearly three months after wowing fans with ‘Push 2 Start,‘ the lead single from the deluxe edition of her eponymous debut album ‘Tyla,’ the South African hitmaker can finally boast laying claim to her second charting single on the American Billboard Hot 100.
Months after becoming a Tik Tok sensation, ‘Start’ finally got its Hot 100 start this week by premiering at #88. Here are the numbers that powered the placement.
- Streaming ≈ 4.2 million U.S.-based streams
- Radio airplay ≈ 8.3 million audience impressions
- Sales ≈ 400 digital downloads
With the handsome sales, radio, and streaming combo, the Sammy Soso-produced cut entered the all-genre chart as the week’s highest debut among all songs led by women.
Coming as the second tune of her career to impact the leading American singles chart, the success of ‘Push’ follows that of the South African singer’s breakthrough hit – 2023’s ‘Water‘ (which made history when it sailed into the Hot 100’s top 10).

Your thoughts?

That’s the problem! People are always categorizing. That’s why the industry is structured so divisively now. So what if it’s “among women”? The charts aren’t based on gender.
Congratulations to her, the song is a hit!
she should get like a drake or a dojacat on the remix to propel it higher
I dont know her- Mariah 😆
