Kevin Costner‘s family, friends, and family may have been busy celebrating him for his 70th birthday on Saturday (January 18), but the Academy and EMMY Award-winning actor still took time from the festivities to remember his legendary friend and ‘Bodyguard‘ co-star Whitney Houston.
Taking to Instagram over the weekend, Costner took time from fielding well wishes from his 2 million followers to share a photo posted by the account of Houston’s estate.
“This photo reminds me of how lucky I am to be getting another birthday,” he captioned the post. “We lost such a light when we lost Whitney.”
His longtime friend long after the success of the blockbuster 1992 romantic thriller ‘The Bodyguard,’ Houston – one of the most successful and revered vocalists of all time – died at age 48 in 2012.
Costner was among the many celebrities on-hand at her televised funeral who delivered eulogies in her memory.
