Kanye West is no stranger to drumming up headlines with his controversial statements over the years, and – if a recent string of tweets is to judge by – 2025 will be no different.
As embattled and imprisoned music and fashion mogul Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs awaits a May 2025 trial for charges of sex trafficking, racketeering, and more, he’s certainly gained his fair share of detractors and critics – everyone from former fans and employees to industry peers.
West has taken to social media to suggest he is not of the latter category.
“Free Puff,” Kanye said on X (formerly known as Twitter) on Thursday night (February 6).
Kicking off what seemed to be an unprovoked rant, the Rap superstar (known simply as ‘Ye’) took aim at his fellow celebrities for abandoning the Bad Boy mogul amid his current sea of legal woes.
“All these celebrity n-ggas and b-tches is p-ssy,” Yeezy went on to say. “Y’all watch our brother rot and never say sh-t. F*ck all that woke sh-t. N-ggas addicted to complaining; do something.”
He even likened the backlash Combs is facing to similar scrutiny R&B superstar Chris Brown has faced over the years.
“WE ALL WATCHED THEM TRY TO CANCEL CHRIS BROWN AND AINT NOBODY DO NOTHING,” West said to his 32 million followers on the platform. “I WAS P-SSY THEN TOO, [BUT NOW IT’S] CHRIS BROWN TIL THE WHEELS FALL OFF.”
Kanye ended his rant by announcing he is now selling fashion merchandise from his collaboration with Combs – a crossover between his brand and the latter’s Sean John clothing line.
The string of tweets is the latest jaw-dropping event that’s had West in headlines this week starting with his NSFW red carpet appearance at Sunday’s GRAMMYs with wife Bianca Censori (February 2) to his bombshell admission of being diagnosed with autism.
