One thing’s for sure; Kanye West has had a heck of a headline-grabbing week.
When not dropping jaws for his red carpet antics at Sunday’s GRAMMYs (February 2), he followed up with a shocking interview where he admitted to being diagnosed with autism and claimed he is the only rapper alive who can beat Kendrick Lamar in a rap battle.
As if that wasn’t enough, the music and fashion mogul spewed a string of ableist, fatphobic, antisemitic, and homophobic tweets on Thursday (February 6) that sent his fans and critics spiraling in social media chatter.
Seemingly with no intention to cool the fire, West returned to X (formerly known as Twitter) on Friday (February 7) to douse the flame with even more incendiary commentary.
Fans who thought Kanye’s pleas for President Trump to free Sean “Diddy” Combs from jail was the worst of his ranting were shocked to see that was just the tip of the iceberg.
When not slamming Jewish people, the rapper turned his attention to Black and White people with stinging criticisms on Friday.
“I also brought back the word h-nkey,” he said to his 32 million followers on the platform before saying, “You know who hates Black people the most? Black people! You know who kills Black people the most? Black people!”
Elsewhere, Kanye hit back at critics of his praise session of Adolf Hitler.
“Funny how n-ggas rapping about killing n-ggas is not hate but posting a swastika is hate,” he said.
And, if upsetting advocates against antisemitism, homophobia, racism, sexism, and ableism wasn’t enough, West’s string of inflammatory tweets took aim at the body positivity movement.
“F-CK ALL THIS WOKE SHIT THEY PUTTING FAT B-TCHES ON THE RUNWAY NOBODY WANNA SEE THAT SH-T; IT’S UNHEALTHY [and] IT PROMOTES OBESITY,” he said. “THE WILD SH-T IS IF THE FAT B-TCHES LOSE WEIGHT THEN THEY LOSE THEIR ACCEPT[ABILITY]…”
That’s not all he said.
“Fat b-tches are sex offenders; I see them and I’m sexually offended,” he said. “Making lingerie for fat b-tches is like giving knives to little kids: they gone hurt somebody. If you find yourself in a fat b-tch p–sy, just remember it’s because you’re broke.”
Later proclaiming that “[weight loss] surgery gives people a second chance at life,” the 24-time GRAMMY winner stunned when he confirmed he intentionally does not employ overweight candidates at his various businesses.
“Yeezy does NOT hire fat or ugly people,” he boldly stated.
Yet, despite his cancellation being called for in droves, Ye asserted sales of his merchandise (presumably music and clothes) have only increased since his headline-dominating rants.
“MY SALES DOUBLED SINCE LAST NIGHT,” he said on Friday. “DAMN THE WORLD MUST BE RACIST LIKE ME.”
At writing, his assertion regarding sales has not been verified by an independent party.
