‘Actin Up Again’ singer Gavin Adcock certainly has the #Beyhive acting up after making some inflammatory remarks about their fearless leader Beyonce.

One of Country music’s brightest rising stars, the footballer-turned-singer took to the stage of a recent concert to slam Bey’s history-making 2024 LP ‘Cowboy Carter.’
“[There are a couple of albums] ahead of me on Apple Music’s Country charts, and one of them is Beyonce. You can tell her we’re coming for her a**,” he said to a cheering crowd. “That sh-t ain’t Country music and it ain’t ever been Country music.”
As the story made its rounds on the net, Gavin took to his personal Instagram page to address the heat from Bey’s fans and supporters.
“I really don’t believe her album should be labeled as Country music; it doesn’t sound Country and doesn’t feel Country,” he said on IG (as seen in the clip above. “I don’t feel like people who have dedicated their whole lives to this genre and this lifestyle should have to compete or watch that album stay at the top just because she’s Beyonce.”
His criticism joins many from Country enthusiasts who have slammed the ‘Texas Hold ‘Em‘-housing LP for its genre-bending approach on traditional Bluegrass sounds – a detraction only amplified after Bey took home Best Country Album at the 2025 GRAMMYs.
At writing, Bey – hot-trotting across the globe on the record-breaking ‘Cowboy Carter Tour‘ – has yet to directly respond to Adcock.

What the hell would Beyonce currate a PURE country album for?, the most country sounding song is arguably II MOST WANTED, why would the entire album sound like that? 🤣 🤣 🤣 🤣 🤣
The album is meant to make country music sound LESS boring, not si.ply add to a ever growing boring trash bin of REGULAR country music. That’s for COUNTRY artist to make, Beyonce isn’t one, neither does she want to be one 🙄

If Beyonce wanted to make a PURE country album, CC would’ve been exactly that. Cowboy Carter is a DYNAMIC country album which is why it won 3 grammys.

Cowboy Carter is a black multi dimensional NON TRADITIONAL country Album where every song has a country influence either by theme, lyrics, composition or instrumentation.
Beyonce has NEVER done a pure genre album ever in her 12 album career… from 1999 till present. The house album wasn’t pure house either and neither will the rock album be pure rock. 🎸
