Billboard 200: Taylor Swift’s ‘Life of a Showgirl’ to Break Adele’s Record As First-Week Sales Now Push Toward 4 Million

Published: Monday 6th Oct 2025 by Rashad

Nearly a decade ago, Adele‘s ‘25‘ – the anxiously awaited follow-up to 2011’s blockbuster, ‘Rolling in the Deep‘-housing ‘21‘ LP – achieved the unprecedented when it shifted 3.4 million in sales its first week of availability.

The feat made it the highest first-week sales sum any album had ever collected in the history of the Billboard 200 at the time.

Fast forward 10 years, Taylor Swift not only seems poised to surpass the accomplishment but also raise the bar to unthinkable heights.

Taylor Swift’s ‘Life of a Showgirl’

Predicted First-Week Sales: 3.5 – 4 million

Predicted First-Week Billboard 200 Placement: #1

Based on first-day sales performance of 2.7 million sold, industry analysts predicted ‘Life of a Showgirl’ – released October 3 – would sell no less than 3 million by the end of its inaugural sales tracking week.

Now, thanks to the availability of data attached to the commercial performance of the project’s main version as well as variants and physical editions, Swift’s ‘Showgirl’ is expected to dance north of the 3.5 million mark in opening sales.

If the prediction rings true, Taylor will not only be guaranteed next week’s #1 spot on the Billboard 200 but will open with the highest sum any album has ever achieved in music history.

All will be revealed on Sunday (October 12) when Billboard unveils the official final count.

Until then, keep it locked to That Grape Juice for updates as this story develops.

It’s crazy cause the impact of this album wasn’t felt like in the real world it doesn’t exist unlike Adele’s album you felt it everywhere every song! What kind of sorcery is going on here

No it’s not. Taylor is eligible for 2026 GRAMMYs coming up in February and ACT III is no where near release date.

Yur wrong actually, the 2026 grammy submission deadline is August 30th. That’s why Cardi submitted Outside but nothing else.

The thing is, this is Taylor’s worst album since Lover. Who are these 4 million poeple ordering this sh*t? It’s nowhere near as good as Renaissance or Adele’s 25.

This is nothing more then payola , shes a billionaire now so its nothing to here. The industry is not authentic and believable anymore. This is like a tax return she pay for it and get her money back SMH. And when Adele did her numbers it was pure sales streaming counts was not in affect at that time. SMH

    • Yo October 6, 2025

Adele kept it off streaming for 7 weeks to force people tp buy it.

Agree, this woman has trained herself and her team how to sell ice to an eskimo!!! She is a disgrace, a hustler, and a hack!!! Absolute rubbish. I would argue, what has made her remain so popular is that despite being in her mid 30s, she continues to pretend that she’s 19 and therefore remains appealing to both older and younger white women.

I’ve never owned a Taylor song until Fate of Ophelia. The first half of the album is solid enough to carry the subpar rest of the project to vertiginous heights. White girl vs. White girl. . .I stay outta that
