‘Die with a Smile’ Eclipses ‘Uptown Funk’ & ‘Just Dance’ to Become the Longest-Charting Hot 100 Hit of Bruno Mars & Lady Gaga’s Careers

Due to Billboard’s updated guidelines on how aged songs chart (effective this week), ‘Die with a Smile,’ the August 2024-released powerhouse duet from Lady Gaga and Bruno Mars, has exited the Billboard Hot 100.

Not without making history and personal milestones, however.

Ending its jaw-dropping reign at 60 weeks, ‘Die with a Smile’ most famously notched the following Hot 100 accomplishments during its run:

  • Longest-charting male-female duet ever (60 weeks)
  • Longest-charting duet of any kind in the top 10 (51 weeks)
  • Longest-charting song with a female lead in the top 10 (51 weeks)
  • Made Gaga the first woman this century to have multiple #1 hits across three different decades

The wins didn’t stop there.

On a personal note, the 60-week run of ‘Smile’ made it the longest-charting hit of Gaga and Bruno’s respective careers.

Before it, Bruno’s 2014 chart-topper ‘Uptown Funk‘ held the title for him (56 weeks) while Lady’s 2008 #1 hit ‘Just Dance‘ owned it for her (49 weeks).
