The R&B singer’s show at the Glion Arena Kobe in Japan took a dramatic turn when an overly eager fan stormed the stage mid-performance of his hit ‘Because of You’.
Instead of security intervening right away, Ne-Yo (born Shaffer Smith) stepped in himself and smacked the fan to keep him at bay before guards escorted the individual off stage.
After the incident, Smith addressed the situation on Instagram and said:
“This is what you DON’T do. I’m a gentleman but I WILL slap the sh*t out of a person for disrespecting my stage. And then keep the party going. Don’t try me. All love, til it’s not.”
The incident was caught on camera and has been making the rounds online, sparking a debate among fans who are arguing whether the slap was necessary or not.
Regardless of their feelings, it appears the ‘Miss Independent’ singer isn’t about to let anyone interrupt his show without consequences.

Not gonna lie I would have considered firing security. Now if we had a good relationship and bond I would have a good warning but that is a no no. Your eyes should be on me all times and scanning my parameter. People to crazy for that to not be ON POINT!!!!
