Hot 100: Mariah Carey Extends THREE Major Billboard Records As ‘All I Want for Christmas’ Retains Top Spot for Historic 22nd Week

Published: Monday 29th Dec 2025 by Rashad

Mariah Carey‘s perennial hit ‘All I Want for Christmas Is You‘ is the gift that just keeps on giving.

As expected, ‘Christmas’ held tight to the top spot of the Billboard Hot 100 over the week of the actual holiday. Here are the numbers that powered its retained placement.

  • Streaming = 70.6 million U.S.-based streams
  • Sales = 5,000 digital downloads
  • Radio airplay = 38.3 million impressions

In holding the #1 position for a 22nd week overall, ‘Christmas’ extends its run as the longest-reigning Hot 100 chart-topper in the 67-year history of the hitlist – a feat that also lengthens Carey’s career run for most weeks at the tally’s summit (now at 101).

As if those two accomplishments weren’t enough to brag about, the classic holiday hit – in its 79th appearance on the all-genre chart – extends its tenancy as the longest-charting hit by a woman ever.

Finally, because this week’s chart will run into the beginning of 2026, Carey can boast having placed a #1 hit across 22 distinct calendar years: 1990-2000, 2005-06, 2008, and 2019-26.
