Even with her unrivaled Hot 100 resume over her 20-year career, Taylor Swift is still managing to traipse uncharted territory.
‘Fate of Ophelia‘ – the lead single from her record-breaking ‘Life of a Showgirl‘ album – maintained its grip on the tally’s top spot this week, marking its 10th non-consecutive print in the position.
In true Taylor fashion, the chart championship comes along with some history-making news.
‘Ophelia’ found itself at #1 on the updated Hot 100 this week; here are the numbers that powered the placement.
- Streaming: 18.4 million U.S.-based streams
- Sales: 11,000 digital downloads
- Radio airplay: 62.1 million audience impressions
Of the 13 chart-toppers Taylor’s amassed over her career, ‘Ophelia’ is the first to spend 10 weeks in the all-genre chart’s pole position.
What’s more, the Max Martin-produced cut is only the second solo hit released by a woman this decade to spend as much time atop the tally – tying Adele‘s 2021 smash ‘Easy on Me.’
Among all unaccompanied female Hot 100 #1s, however, Mariah Carey‘s perennial chart-topper ‘All I Want for Christmas Is You‘ holds the overall title with a whopping 21 weeks collected this decade alone (22 total).
Most Weeks at #1 in the 2020s (Female)
Mariah Carey’s ‘All I Want for Christmas Is You’ (21 weeks)
Kendrick Lamar & SZA’s ‘Luther’ (13 weeks)
Adele’s ‘Easy on Me’ (1o weeks)
