According to The Sun, the 39-year-old has enlisted British director Sam Wrench to helm the project, with filming said to be taking place across her four-night run at Los Angeles’ Kia Forum this week.
Wrench is no stranger to arena sized productions, having previously directed Taylor Swift’s hugely successful ‘Eras Tour’ film, as well as festive special ‘Christmas in Paris’ with Christina Aguilera.
A source shared:
“Gaga has poured her heart and soul into The Mayhem Ball.
She is so proud of everyone who has helped make the tour what it is and is keen to give it the full concert film treatment.
Not only is it arguably her most elaborate show of all time, it’s also reminded the world that almost two decades into her career she is still at the top of her game.”
The filmmaker will reportedly join a creative team that includes the star’s fiance Michael Polansky, and choreographer Parris Goebel.
The tour itself has already played to more than 1.3 million fans across 87 dates globally/
No word yet on a release date for the film, though it is expected to land on streaming later this year following what insiders describe as a fierce bidding war.
