Ahead of Season 3 of ‘Euphoria’, the hitmaker addressed his departure from the show, posing back on narratives surrounding his exit.
Full story below…
Taking to social media, Labrinth called out what he described as dishonesty within the industry. He candidly wrote:
“People will comfortably lie in this industry and still call themselves honest people,”
The hitmaker went on to say:
“So no cap, I decided to remove whatever music I had in it. I spoke to HBO, as far as I know, we are cool. I left because, last truth, when I work for someone, their vision is paramount to me. But I don’t let people treat me like sh*t”
These remarks follow his earlier outburst last month when he wrote in a now deleted past that he’s done with the industry, saying:
“F**k Columbia. Double f**k Euphoria. I’m out. Thank you and good night.”
While the show’s creator, Sam Levinson, praised him as a key creative force, claiming uncertainty over his exit, Labrinth tells a different story.
The composer, who helped define the show’s sonic identity and scored major wins with tracks like ‘All For Us,’ had initially been expected to return. However, Hans Zimmer stepped in for the show’s next chapter.
Still, Labrinth isn’t slowing down. Fresh off his performance at Coachella, the genre-bending star seems to be ushering in a new era, teasing the release of his latest track ‘SHUT YOUR DAMN’ set to drop April 13.
Drama aside, it seems Labrinth is getting the music and the message to speak loudly.
