Michael Jackson’s ‘Billie Jean’ Jumps to #1 on Billboard’s GLOBAL Chart Following Biopic Success

More than 40 years after its release, Michael Jackson‘s unforgettable ‘Thriller‘ classic ‘Billie Jean’ is back on the charts.

A day after Billboard confirmed Jackson landed TWO albums in the top 10 of the Billboard 200, the music industry Bible took to press on Monday (May 18) to confirm ‘Billie’ made a beeline to the #1 spot on the Billboard Global  200 Chart – making it the most popular song in the world at the moment over 43 years after its initial release.

This resurgence comes amid the massive success of the highly anticipated Michael’ biopic which has been dominating both the box office and music streaming services. 

The film has introduced a new generation to the King of Pop’s legendary catalog while longtime fans revisit the timeless records that shaped music history.

‘Billie Jean’  isn’t the only Jackson classic seeing a major boost, either.

Several of Michael’s biggest hits have reportedly experienced huge streaming spikes following the film’s release, proving once again that his influence remains unmatched decades later.

With the movie already being hailed as one of the biggest biopics to date and a sequel reportedly on the way,, it’s clear that Michael Jackson’s legacy continues to reign supreme.

More than four decades later, the King of Pop is still on top.

    Wow, Drake’s tie with Michael Jackson for #1’s is about to be broken and bring in even more press as people debate who the greatest artist is, following the theatrical release of “Michael.” Knowing how Drake celebrates, I don’t think deluxe versions of the albums are far away 🎶
