Aubrey O’Day is speaking up and speaking out after Laurieann Gibson revisited the rise and unraveling of Danity Kane.
As reported, Gibson recently reflected on the group during a sit-down with Jason Lee and suggested different “agendas” contributed to their split. She also singled out O’Day, saying the singer wanted to “jump out there and be that star.”
Now, the outspoken songbird is pecking back.

Responding on X, the former Bad Boy star said being positioned as the face of DK “wasn’t by my design,” adding that she was young and had “absolutely no control” over how the group was presented.
O’Day also rejected the idea that she entered the group with a solo-minded plan, saying her original path was law school. She went on to take aim at Gibson directly, calling her “divisive” and claiming the group later moved on from her creatively.
She threw in a few Diddy-centered jabs, too.
Her full response read:
“AND all you said, wasn’t by my design. I was a kid. I had absolutely no control. My agenda prior was going to law school & becoming a lawyer like my mom. And I said NO to the freak offs. And the feds came to me bc there is an affidavit that states someone with 100% certainty witnessed me be raped, not bc I’m in any videos they confiscated- participating. That lady has always been divisive (which is why WE as a group fired her & hired incredibly talented choreographers (good for the art & the mental) as well as full of shit.. so the last part is also correct. I’m glad she came out of hiding tho.. now that the man who said “I want to thank Bishop T.D. Jakes & Laurieann Gibson for helping me see the light through the difficult times” is in prison.”
The fiery response adds yet another layer to the long-running Danity Kane saga.
Earlier this year, O’Day denied Dawn Richard’s claims of being left out of the group’s reunion run, while the brand later found itself at the center of “false advertising” drama tied to a two-member booking.

Laurie Ann didn’t lie though. Aubrey was always the problematic one in the group. Sometimes it was good and sometimes it was bad. So yeah, there’s that….doesn’t sound like Aubrey learned anything after all these years which is why she is broke and not making any legacy money.
