The track serves as the lead offering from Grande’s forthcoming eighth studio album, ‘Petal,’ which arrives July 31 and extends her impressive run atop the tally. With the achievement, Grande ties for the 10th-most Hot 100 #1 singles in chart history alongside the likes of Janet Jackson, Bruno Mars and Stevie Wonder.
The song also delivers another major win for hit-making duo Max Martin and ILYA, with Martin extending his all-time producer record to 28 Hot 100 chart-toppers.
By the numbers, ‘Hate That I Made You Love Me’ debuted with:
23.6 million U.S. streams
18.9 million radio audience impressions
70,000 units sold
The single launches at #3 on Streaming Songs, #25 on Radio Songs and #1 on Digital Song Sales, powered by 55,000 download purchases.
The achievement marks Grande’s eighth Hot 100 #1 debut, tying Taylor Swift for the most among female artists.
Notably, Grande now boasts more Hot 100 chart-toppers than any artist since she first reached the summit with 2018’s ‘Thank U, Next,’ surpassing Swift’s total nine during that period.
With ‘Petal’ just weeks away, the era is off to a blockbuster start.

On the verge of death or not, which I pray doesn’t happen, the girl can sing down and does make good music. I wish her the best, and pray that comes out of denial, and realizes that she needs help.
Love her!
She made the perfect summer jam!
Mix of vocalist light & hipster dark.
Hope Mariah won’t remix THIS!🤞
