Her representative confirmed the plan on Sunday. Grande will step back from public-facing work once ‘The Eternal Sunshine Tour’ concludes on September 1. The news also coincided with her exit from a West End revival of ‘Sunday in the Park With George.’
A night later, she spoke to it directly at the United Center.
She said:
“The announcement that was made yesterday was not a reactive or impulsive thing. It is something that I had decided to plan that I had quietly made a long time ago.”

“Could Not Be More the F**k Opposite”
Grande then tackled the reading head-on. Fans had worried that online negativity drove her away. However, she rejected that framing outright.
“I heard that my fans were worried that negativity was ruining things for me, but I just have to say that could not be more the f**k opposite. Multiple things can be true at the same time. Boundaries, they need to be set.”
In other words, the break is a choice rather than a retreat.
