Trippie Redd may be building the wrong kind of buzz for his new album, ‘NDA,’ ahead of the project’s release on Friday (August 14).
His first studio effort since 2023’s ‘Mansion Musik,’ the forthcoming LP – a stacked 25-song affair – is supported by singles ‘Swagger,’ ‘Paperbag Boy’ with Young Thug, and the newly released ‘Meet the Redds’ featuring fellow Hip-Hop hitmaker Sexyy Red.
And while some Trippie fans were applauding the unique and long-awaited collaboration with Sexyy, others raised eyebrows at some of its socially insensitive lyrics.

Beyond loading the tune’s accompanying visual with symbolism including a recreation of the timeless painting “American Gothic,” Red and Redd definitely got folks talking with lyrics from the new song.
“F-ck these lame n—as, we gon’ lynch ’em like the Klan,” raps Trippie over ATL Jacob production.
The line drew particular attention from commenters given the recent headline-grabbing stories of African Americans Nolan Wells and Tasia Fortune whose mysterious deaths are believed by many to be racially motivated.
Sounding off in the comment sections of social media platforms and YouTube, some viewers didn’t exactly hold back with their criticisms about the “insensitivity” of the lyric.
“It’s men and women getting lynched to this day in Mississippi, and you hop on a song with [Trippie]?,” scolded one commenter while another shared, “[Sexyy] is such a f-cking sellout…such a disappointment.”
At writing, neither performer of ‘Meet the Redds’ has addressed the growing backlash over the line.
