Beyoncé is proving why her fan base is like no other.
Full story below.
To mark the 20th anniversary of her sophomore album ‘B’Day,’ Bey released a collection of items celebrating the album’s longevity and staying power.
One item in particular caught the attention of fans and the Internet-at-large: the Bey Keeper Box.
Featuring an embroidered bee and leather lining on the inside, the collectible retailed for $948.01 on the singer’s website, a nod to her birthday (September 4, 1981), and was limited to just 500 boxes.
The internet quickly took the box by storm, with some fans calling Beyoncé out for seemingly being out of touch with the current times by charging nearly $1,000 for a box.
However, the numbers don’t lie.
According to Beyoncé’s official website, the Bey Keeper Box is officially sold out just about two weeks after its initial release – serving further proof of Beyoncé’s understanding of her consumers.
Other items from the B’Day anniversary collection have also sold out, showing that despite the backlash surrounding the price tag there was still plenty of demand for the limited-edition merchandise.
As if that’s not enough to celebrate, the album itself catapulted back into the Billboard 200’s top 10 two decades after it first topped the tally. Read more about that here.

Them Carters be doing “fuzzy math” tactics. They’ll buy them themselves because they know the power of appearances. All that matters is that it shows as sold out. Matthew said it a long time ago. All that matters is that people SEE you win. It’s not about how you won. They don’t need to know that part. They just need to see you winning.
did it really sell out or they pulled it from the site and said “SOLD OUT”. businesses do that all the time! #justsaying
