‘Easy‘ singer Lionel Richie is reportedly taking it easy after giving family and fans alike a recent scare following his third hospitalization in as many months for heart-related issues.

Taking to press on Wednesday (September 23), a rep for the R&B/Pop legend confirmed Richie’s recent hospitalization was to undergo a procedure for atrial fibrillation (A-fib) – a condition characterized by irregular heartbeats that could lead to stroke or heart failure.

According to the unidentified spokesperson for the OSCAR and four-time GRAMMY winner, the “doctor said everything went perfectly” and “Lionel is doing great but will take some time off and will be back on stage soon.”

Richie, in the middle of the critically acclaimed ‘Sing a Song All Night Long Tour’ with Earth, Wind & Fire, has not issued a direct statement about his health or recovery plans.

At writing, his official return-to-stage date has not been announced.
