T-Pain is taking legal action again.
The performer has filed a lawsuit against Akon‘s Konvict Entertainment, claiming the label still owes him almost half a million dollars.

Per the filing, T-Pain is seeking $489,047 in allegedly owed royalties.
The complaint was filed in Fulton County Superior Court. T-Pain alleges Konvict breached both his 2005 recording agreement and the settlement that ended their 2025 lawsuit. Akon is not personally named as a defendant.
The dispute centers on more than $1.3 million Konvict received from a distributor in late March. Under the agreement, T-Pain says he is entitled to 75 percent of the net royalties Konvict receives.
Konvict paid T-Pain $489,047 in early June. He claims that represented only half of what he should have received.
He alleges another portion of the royalty payment went to Konvict affiliate BuVision. T-Pain says Konvict directed his representatives to seek the remaining money from BuVision, but those attempts did not result in payment.
T-Pain’s attorneys subsequently sent written notice accusing Konvict of failing to pay the outstanding amount required under their settlement. The company did not resolve the alleged breach after receiving the notice.
The dispute dates back to T-Pain’s 2005 signing with Konvict. The parties previously went through mediation and settled their 2025 lawsuit for $114,000. The current dispute concerns royalties from the latter half of 2025.
The legal wrangle comes during an active stretch for the hitmaker, who was recently issued quite the musical challenge when Pharrell called on T-Pain to “save R&B.”
