The promo train that is Justin Timberlake only continues to build steam with the release of his latest album’s second visual ‘Mirrors’.
The stunning accompanying video, said to be a tribute to the long-lasting love story of Timberlake’s grandparents, saw its release today shortly after its parent album ‘The 20/20 Experience’ hit record shelves to much fanfare.

As fans may know, William and Sadie Bomar are Justin’s grandparents who, due to their respective illnesses, were unable to attend his wedding to actress Jessica Biel. This clip acts as not only a great tribute to them, but an overall well put together visual that only reasserts what need not be – Justin is currently pop’s premier act.

I don’t love the song, it’s too long. The repetitiveness of the last half is too much. The beat-boxing was also too “Cry Me a River” like and should have sounded more updated for this new era. His voice has improved. It’s thicker, heavier and more resonant.

Glad JT is bck and all, but I’ve felt really underwhelmed by him this era S&T was really mediocre first single, preferred it when R. Kelly did it. I only really like about 5 songs off the current album, “T.V.”, “S.B.”, “S.C.”, “Mirrors”, and “P.L.G.”. And tbh this video really didn’t move me, plus he sploit it for me when he popped up with those tired steps that he’s been using since Justified. All that said I appreciate the fact that he is giving solid music compared to the garbaged that has been out for a minute.

Some parts were pretty cool! I see that a lot of thought went into this and that alone gets my respect. It didn’t blow me away, I’d be too bored to watch this video twice. Still this concept looks great on paper and JT got his point across. There’s no stopping JT, he’s on his way to having a great year. At the same time, it’s nice to be privileged. His promo is strong and that in today’s music world that guarantees that his audience will be receptive. I am glad however, that this may steer undeserving hype away from the pesky Bieber!
