The Recording Academy today announced that Beyonce will take to the stage with the legendary Tina Turner at this Sunday’s 50th Annual Grammy Awards in Los Angeles. No further details were given on the performance. Other performers on the night include Fergie with John Legend, Rihanna, Alicia Keys, Aretha Franklin and a much speculated possible performance by Janet Jackson. {Source}With Beyonce having tore several pages out of Tina Turner’s book (hit up Youtube to see what I’m talking about), I’m thinking this performance will be a showstopper. The Grammy organisers really seem to be pulling out all the stops for their 50th. Are you looking forward to Beyonce and Tina’s performance?

1) What does Janet have to do with their performance? For that matter, why are you bringing up Fergie and Rhianna both of which are NOT known for dancing?
2) Considering Tina is old enough to be Beyonce’s grandmother how can you possibly type Ms. Tina is going to slow B down? Be real, Tina evented it before B was even born. B even stated she was “inspired” by Tina so don’t go there.
3) What has Beyonce done that is so ground breaking again as a SOLO artist? CD sales, no. Record sales, no. Performance, seen it before from innovators.

YaChi what has beyonce done, lets see she was the first black female artist to win an ASCAP award for writer of the year, she is the lead singer of the highest selling female group of all time, she is the only artist to have a #1 movie, #1 song, and #1 album at the same time…the movie Pink Panther, the song Check On It, and the album #1’s by Destiny’s child, she also became only the third artist Black artist behind Michael Jackson & Whitney Houston and 2nd black female behind whitey Houston to win the International Artist Award at the American Music Awards, she is also the youngest artist to win the award, please don’t do it, y’all know beyonce is as far as music goes the biggest female artist out of the past 10 years
Of course, of course, of course I’m looking forward to seeing Beyonce’s & Tina’s performance at the Grammys (in just two days, I can’t wait!) I ADORE Beyonce and I admire Tina Turner, they’re both top-notch performers. This will be Beyonce’s SIXTH PERFORMANCE at the Grammy. (Not many people get that opportunity, so fast.)

I agree with Yachi, Beyonce is not a groundbreaking artist. She has done nothing different in the music game. Tina Turner is a legend, you cannot even compare Beyonce to Tina Turner or Janet Jackson for that matter. And for the comment about Beyonce showing Janet Jackson how it is done. Janet already done it and redone it and now Beyonce is trying to warm it up again. She is a cool artist, but don’t try to make her into a legend.
